The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for an Education Solicitor to join a highly regarded team in Leeds. You will work on a broad mix of advisory and contentious matters, supporting a diverse client base within the education sector.
Key Responsibilities
Advising education clients including:
Schools and academies
Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs)
Colleges and universities
Handling a mix of contentious and non-contentious education law matters, including:
Governance and regulatory compliance
Safeguarding and pupil matters
SEN (Special Educational Needs) advice
Admissions and exclusions
Employment-related education issues
Representing clients in tribunals and hearings where required
Drafting policies, procedures, and governance documentation
Building strong client relationships and supporting business development
Keeping up to date with changes in education law and policy
About You
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
Ideally 2–6 years’ PQE (flexible depending on experience)
Experience in Education Law or a strong interest in specialising in this area
Background in public sector, regulatory, or employment law also considered
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Commercially aware with a proactive approach
